Friday 28th April 2023 saw AH-64E ZM727 take to the air for the first time in the UK at Wattisham, as “ArmyAir607“.
The latest AAC AH-64E to fly in the UK is ZM723, which first flew from Wattisham on 30/03/2023 as ArmyAir606.
The next batch of new AH-64Es have been airfreighted from Arizona to Mildenhall in the UK aboard a USAF C-5M Galaxy. “Reach406” landed in Suffolk on 17th March 2023 with ZM728, ZM729 and ZM730. These will be readied for road move by REME crews and moved to Wattisham by JARTS over the coming days.
AH-64E ZM725 made a short test flight at Wattisham on 14th March 2023. This was its first flight in the UK following re-assembly after delivery by air freight from the manufacturer, and was flown by 7 Battalion as “ArmyAir606“
Three more brand new AH-64Es arrived in the UK on Friday 9th December 2022 from the factory at Mesa, AZ. ZM723, ZM725 and ZM727 were air-freighted by USAF C-5 Super Galaxy from Phoenix to Mildenhall and will be road moved to Wattisham in due course. This means that 28 of the 50 AH-64Es on order […]
With 25 (out of 50 on order) AH-64Es now delivered to the UK, the AAC are building up their fleet and hours. ZM720, ZM724 and ZM726 arrived at Wattisham on 1st November 2022 by road move following their air-freight delivery into Mildenhall the previous week from the Boeing factory at Phoenix, Arizona.
On Thursday 15th September 2022 AH-64E ZM719 made its first flight since arriving in the UK at Wattisham as “ArmyAir606“
A “public” appearance of the AACs new AH-64E Guardian v6 took place at the DVD2022 event at UTAC Millbrook in September 2022. ZM704 was on static display for exhibitors and visitors to see.
Another AH-64E was delivered to 673 Sqn at Middle Wallop from Wattisham on 1st September 2022 as “ArmyAir606“
