25th March 2024 saw the retirement of the Army Air Corps Westland Apache AH1 fleet, as the new Boeing AH-64E Guardian v6 variant took over the role.
A final flypast over many Apache related bases was carried out by a pair of Apache AH1s alongside a pair of AH-64Es.
With well over 20 years of service including active operations over Libya and Afghanistan the Apache had been a quantum capability leap over the Lynx, and the new AH-64Es are yet another massive capability leap over the older Apache AH1 fleet.
