673 Squadron AAC

Squadron Motto: “Cavere Primae Tenebrae” (Be Wary of the First Darkness)

Royal Air Force 673 Squadron was formed in India on 1st January 1945 as a glider squadron, serving until the end of the Second World War.

When the Apache was introduced into service the Attack Helicopter Training Unit (AHTU) was formed to training and convert pilots to the Apache.

On 1st April 2003 the AHTU was re-designated as 673 Squadron and continued to train Apache crews at Middle Wallop until December 2020 when it transferred its Apache AH1s to the Apache Main operating Base at Wattisham.
